WHO WE ARE

The Maine Association for Pupil Transportation is a nonprofit organization of school transportation personnel. Formed in 1971 by a small, dedicated group of transportation supervisors in order to provide training to the school bus driver throughout the state, MAPT has grown to an association consisting of supervisors, directors, administrators, mechanics, trainers, drivers, industry related companies and representatives Department of Education, Maine State Police.

WHAT WE DO

Training
Provide six (6) regional safety conferences throughout the state (4 in April and 2 in June); Annual safety conference and trade show held each July at Sugerloaf USA, Workshops for drivers, mechanics, and directors, School Bus Driver Handbook.

Programs
National School Bus Safety Week Poster, School Bus Driver Appreciation Day, School Bus Driver of the Year Award, National Skills Competitions (bus driver, Mechanics and special needs), Driver Certification Program
